Egyptian Spirit Arabians began in 1998 with the purchase of our foundation mare, CT Talina. She was a proven broodmare with many successes breeding with national champion stallions Thee Desperado and The Minstril. At the time we acquired Talina, she was in foal to a young Thee Desperado son. It was his first foal crop so no one was sure what to expect though being a son of the great Thee Desperado, expectations were high. Well, that young colt was Thee Infidel. That year we purchased CT Talina, he competed as the U.S. Nationals as a three-year old. Thee Infidel took Top Ten in the National Futurities.

As with Thee Infidel, everyone was anxious with anticipation of this first foal crop. Again, expectations were high and no one was disappointed. Thee Sentinel was shown as a yearling at the 1999 Egyptian Event. He competed in the World Class Colts of 1998 with over 20 other worthy challengers. We are proud to say that our young colt took third in that class.

Shortly after Thee Sentinel's success in his showing debut, he was sold to HRH Crown Prince Abdullah bin-Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Al Janadriyah Farms. He is currently standing at stud at Al Janadriyah Farms in Saudi Arabia as their junior stallion. Farm Manager, Bruce McCrea, has been very satisfied with the selection of Thee Sentinel. Bruce has been quoted that offspring of Thee Sentinel "are the finest I have seen on this farm". Pictured to the right is Thee Sentinel with handler Scott Cocuzza in the 1999 Egyptian Event.

Also in 1999, we had our second foal by Thee Infidel. He was just as handsome as his brother, Thee Sentinel. We named him Thee Imperator. Again, like his brother, he was tall and leggy horse. We took him to the 2000 Egyptian Event to compete in the 1-year old futurity class. Once again, Scott Cocuzza led him into the show ring. When asked what he thought of Thee Imperator he replied "just like his brother...only chestnut." Once again, we found ourselves competing in a class of over 20 wonderful looking young colts.  This time out, Thee Imperator finished Top Five. Our first two babies taking ribbons...not a bad start for a new breeding program.

Also, in 1999, we purchased a filly who we had hopes for when she began her breeding career. She was still at her mother's side when we purchased her. Desperita (Thee Desperado x The Margarita (x The Minstril)) had enormous potential as a broodmare. The following years we had yet another colt from CT Talina sired by Thee Infidel. He is currently in dressage training and is expecting to begin his performance show career later this year. That same year, we purchased our third broodmare, Maar Silhouette. She was in foal to Thee Desperado. In 2001, she gave us our first filly, a cute and sweet bay we named ESA Sable Silhouette. Sable has just started her breeding career and currently in foal to Thee Asil. Also, in 2001, we had our second filly by Thee Asil. Out of CT Talina, we named her Bint Bint Aminaa, after her grandmother. Pamela Onusko became the proud owner of this filly. She has been shown and is now in foal to Mishaal HP. In 2002, we were finally blessed with a filly out of CT Talina sired by Thee Infidel. She is a sweet black bay who we hope will pick up where her mother left off when CT Talina retires. She is currently in foal to Thee Sequel for early 2006.

Our most recent show success just occurred in 2004. In 2001 we purchased an EBC breeding to Alixir. At that time, Alixir was a relatively unknown colt but with a lot of potential. We bred our Desperado daughter, Desperita, to Alixir. The result was a knockout black filly that we appropriately name Noir Desir (Black Desire).  From the moment she was born we were excited about her chances in the 2004 Egyptian Breeders Challenge. 2004 turned out to be a breakout year for Alixir. Alixir had a colt in the EBC as well as our filly. Well, the colt name Bellagio RCA took the championship for the colt class and our filly took third in her class. The cross with Desperita and Alixir was so well matched we tried it again.
